Quotes from the Classroom 2

Social Studies teacher: (during a lesson on Inuits) Eskimos' lives were all about survival. So desperate to survive that when the first born child was a girl, she was left outside to die because she would not help with hunting.

Female student A: How can they tell?

silent, confusion...scattered giggles

Student B: They hold it up and LOOK!

Student C: I'll tell you at lunch.

Honestly, it is amazing how much kids learn from other kids! Parents, talk to your kids about the awkward stuff or another middle schooler will. and any Eskimos, please call me if you need me to take a baby girl off your hands.

Really? Really?? I don't think that I would have known how to respond. Except with slackjawed silence. And a totally perplexed look!
